How to Install Your WiFi Controller

1. Unscrew the existing controller panel from your Borniak smoker
2. Fit the new WiFi Controller Panel in its place and reconnect the cables
3. Download the free Borcook App from the App Store or Google Play
4. Create your account and follow the in-app pairing instructions
5. Connect to your 2.4 GHz WiFi network

Requires a 2.4 GHz WiFi network with active internet access. Maximum pairing range is 9 metres from the smoker. Compatible with Android 10 and newer, and iOS 16 and newer. Not optimised for tablet use.

Is the installation difficult?

Not at all. You simply unscrew the existing controller panel from your smoker, fit the new WiFi panel in its place, and reconnect the cables. Most customers complete the swap in under 10 minutes. No specialist tools or technical knowledge are required.

What WiFi does the controller need?

The controller requires a 2.4 GHz WiFi network with active internet access. It does not support 5 GHz networks. You must be within 9 metres of the smoker during the initial pairing process.

Is the Borcook App free to download?

Yes, the Borcook App is completely free to download from the Apple App Store and Google Play Store. You will need to create a free account to pair and use your smoker.

Does the app work on both iPhone and Android?

Yes. The Borcook App is compatible with iOS 16 and newer, and Android 10 and newer. Please note it is not optimised for iPad or tablet use.

Can I control the smoker when I am not at home?

Yes. Once your smoker is connected and a programme is running, the app can monitor your smoker via the cloud, meaning you can check temperatures and programme progress even when you are away from your home WiFi network.

How many meat probes are included?

The kit includes two meat probe sensors, allowing you to monitor the internal temperature of two different cuts of meat simultaneously.

Can I save my own recipes and programmes?

Yes. You can create, save and repeat your own custom smoking programmes directly in the Borcook App. Once saved, your programme can be launched again with a single tap.

Do I need to be near the smoker while it is running?

What happens when the meat reaches the target probe temperature?
